2nd Academy Day on 18th September 2008 - Experts pass on their knowledge and expertise on Machine Safety and Industrial Communication Systems.
The second Academy day is due to take place on the 18th September 2008 in Munich under the umbrella topics Machine Safety and Industrial Communication Systems, and will be hosted by Safety Network International e.V. and TÜV Süd GmbH. The aim of the event is to provide information on micro processor based safety technology and communication between a safety field bus or an Ethernet based network. Although these technologies are well established within the industry, good technical literature and training materials remain difficult to find, and therefore this topic is only dealt with in a few teaching facilities.
This is the reason why Safety Network International e.V. decided to bring the Safety Network Academy to being. The aim of the event is to make a broader based expertise available through training and publicity, and in the process, to familiarize the engineers and experts of tomorrow with socio-political and technologically important topics.
The first Academy Day was successfully introduced in Düsseldorf, on the 12th September 2007. The aim of the second Academy Day is to continue this transferral of knowledge between the membership institutions and establishments.
The following topics will be discussed:
- Functional Safety
- Principles and application
- Standards and statutory regulations
- Risk analysis / FMEA
- Safety technology with micro processor based systems
- Basic ground rules
- Secure communication systems
- The principles of transmission
- Safety times, calculation and dependencies
- Application examples from experience and in theory
- Application examples
