An open organisation enables openness in the system!

Openness within an industrial communication system can only be guaranteed if an independent organisation exists to act as a platform for manufacturers, operators and organisations. In this case the organisation membership is open for all companies, organisations and institutions, who share the common interest of propagating the system on a wide scale. The membership enables them to take an active role in new and further technology development. Safety Network International is an independent and open user-organisation, which emerged from the original SafetyBUS p Club, established in1999. Since its foundation it has promoted the widespread and further development of both industrial communication systems SafetyBUS p and SafetyNET p.

The organisational structure – International and Explicit!

The organisation remains clearly focussed on its core markets with three international subsidiaries. The European market is managed centrally from Germany. In the American market it is the US branch and in the Asian market it is the Japanese branch which is responsible for the organisation’s duties . Each subsidiary tends to their own regional projects.

The project groups – Taking part in Innovation!

Supplier Group:

The Supplier Group deals with topics such as the generation of uniform cabling systems, the integration of robot systems, drive technology, wireless transmission technology. Each individual group is responsible for certain projects and laying a foundation so that various products and components directly tied to SafetyBUS p or SafetyNET p may be developed.

Application Group:

The Application Group is responsible for issues regarding drive technology, function diagnosis or network security. Their main priority is to promote the development of the systems SafetyBUS p and SafetyNET p and to adapt these to suit market requirements.

Marketing Group:

The Marketing Group deals with international propagation and marketing of both systems. Special workshops are held where key information is organised for trade fair presence, publications and international events.

Technological Support - Benefit from the Experts!

Technological Support is Safety Network International’s main priority.

The organisation supports each individual developing project from the implementation of systems in new machines to conformity inspections. One important element is technical documentation which accompanies projects such as these. Certification is of particular importance. Since 2006, Safety Network International is listed in the TÜV Product Service Group (TÜV) as an accredited examining laboratory. This means the organisation has the authorisation to certify SafetyBUS p based products, which makes the adoption process so much easier for the manufacturer.

Committee work - Representing Interests!

Safety Network is a "Liaison D" member within the IEC and is involved with standardising committees and organisations. Their aim is to represent the members’ interests appropriately and take an active role in future developments.
