| During the member’s meeting in November 2011, the member companies started various technical committees. These newly founded committees, under the umbrella of the user organisation, all have the same goal. This is to discuss common objectives, to determine and define standards and formulate recommendations which will guide the SafetyNET p users in various applications. All member companies are invited to join these committees. |
Infrastructure Commitee
Successful kick-off event of the Committee for SafetyNET p infrastructureThe first meeting of the committee on infrastructure within Safety Network International was well received. Many topics have been defined and work packages delivered to the participating companies.
The first meeting for the committee of infrastructure components took place on the 2nd February in Ostfildern. Here the committee defined their common objectives and topics which will be discussed in future meetings. The committee is lead by Jochen Streib, Project Manager at Pilz GmbH & Co. KG. Other participating companies are Harting Electric GmbH, Hirschmann Automation and Control GmbH, Moxa Europe GmbH, Schweizer Electronic AG and TE Connectivity Ltd.,
The next meeting was appoint to May 2012.

Security Workgroup Starts 2012
Access security, manipulation protection and network and plant accessibility are topics which concern plant automation engineers from all over the world. The challenges are varied and must be individually analysed and treated for every application. Topics to be discussed in the user organisation Safety Network in 2012 have been found. The aim is to define common perspectives and to find recommendations for topics such as:
- Organisational measures
- Risk analysis and evaluation
- The construction of sustainable network architecture
- Safe remote diagnosis
- Prevention of unauthorised access
- ...
